Revision for students

Some students, due to circumstances or personal choice, are committed to studying by distance tuition or home-schooling. In such a case it is critical to make sure that the student has chosen the correct combination of subjects to ensure a Matriculation Exemption or the equivalent of a SAQA Senior Certificate.

It is possible to study the Cambridge curriculum during the traditional "school-going" age-band, or as an adult.

The Senior High School phase begins in about Grade 9. The first phase consists of a set of IGCSE subjects which are studied for 18 - 24 months, with exams written in Oct / Nov of the Grade 10 year, or in the middle of the Grade 11 year.

The second phase consists of a set of AS Level (or even AS plus A Level subjects) which are studied for 18 - 24 months, with exams written in Oct / Nov of the Grade 12 year.

Some students add a 13th year to complete 3 A Levels which would give them entrance to a UK university.

Personal or email consultation with a facilitator:

For students living in or near Cape Town, an appointment for a personal consultation with a facilitator may be made for the following guidance:

  • Subject choice
  • University admission
  • Course planning
  • Textbooks
  • Other resources

Alternatively, a student may register for email / online facilitation with a facilitator.
